Aussie writers to the fore!

I am so glad that this time I gave in to the lure of the “Quick Choice” section in our local library. Generally it is the home of popular thrillers, chic-lit or steamy novels. They have to be returned within a week, no renewal possible because of the great demand for them.

Well, I struck gold! Two Aussies one male, one female, both contemporary and very good writers. [I have read outstanding novels by Australian women writers before, but they were from the first half of the 20th century, published by Virago press in the 1970s and 80s. Miles Franklin comes to mind.]

I recommend both books. Each one is gripping in its own way.

Liane Moriarty “The Husband’s Secret”

and

Graeme Simsion “The Rosie Project”

Enjoy!

It is always a pleasure to find good books by any writer, Aussie or not. Thanks.
