Hello, I was wondering about the progress on the Hindi course. I have seen many threads going back years, each requesting a Hindi course. Every time it is apparently "Going to be released soon”, but it never is. I mean, this is the fourth most spoken language in the world, and it baffles me that this website hasn’t had it sooner. Is this course still in the works, or has it been scrapped?
In general it would be really nice if the LingQ team would open a thread where updates regarding new languages can be added, instead of the community having to constantly follow up.
LingQ already has a very impressive range of languages and I don’t think new languages are a must. However, these additions are generally the result of volunteer efforts and still contribute to the overall value of the product - so, I think more transparency on this is a reasonable request.
We are still gathering content for it. At the moment I can’t say for sure when it will be added.
We are still missing a Grammar Guide for Hindi, we hope to have it soon.
I am eagerly waiting for Hindi. Please let me know if you have any beta programs for Hindi. I am interested in checking it out. Thanks.
Me, too. I’ve been waiting years already. I really hope Hindi will be available start of the New year.
I have been regularly checking the status of the Hindi course on Lingq since 2020. Since there is no progress for years, I am collecting a bunch of mini stories, Hindu fables and texts on India myself.
I am adding them to a small web app with click translations and audio. If you want to practice reading (and don’t mind the use of AI), use it here: Hindi Mini Stories
This is of course not as good as Lingq, but until they support Hindi it’s a good substitute.
Hi @bejolly Hindi is available on LingQ starting from January 10: Language App LingQ Releases Hindi
Please add Wiktionary to Hindi translations (English & Hindi)
Thanks
