This feedback is based on my experience with Turkish. I’ve run into these issues on Android 5.2.17 Beta on this lesson - Login - LingQ (The Mask - imported via import ebook/subtitles feature) though I’m guessing the issues are not specific to that lesson.
Possible bugs:
B1. TTS in Sentence Mode: When I tap on the speaker icon above a sentence in sentence view, nothing is played. I’m assuming TTS is supposed to be used for content that isn’t imported from youtube.
B2. Show Translation in Sentence Mode: While in sentence mode, I sometimes find I need to tap on “Show Translation” more than once to get a translation to show up. (Hard to reliably reproduce issue, but happens often enough to be noticeable)
B3. Losing Track: If I’m using the app in sentence mode, I switch to another app for a while, then switch back, I often find I’m put into regular mode (instead of sentence mode). And when I press sentence mode, I often have to swipe through many sentences to get back to where I was.
B4. Play Course Audio stops after each track when in background: When I use the “Play Course Audio” feature, say with the LingQ Mini Stories, I typically start playing, then phone screen locks and content plays in the background. However, the playback often stops after each track, and then I have to explicitly press play on the lock screen or go into the app and press play there to resume playing.
Feature requests:
F1. Copy Text: Make it possible to copy selected text (so it can be pasted into another app)
F2. Faster Edit: Make it possible to edit the meaning for an existing lingq without having to expand the popup
F3. Faster Status Setting: Make it possible to click on a new (blue) word for which no meaning has been explicitly added, and tap on any status number (1-4) and have it automatically take the first available meaning and the selected status. Right now, you have to tap on “+” to add the meaning, then tap on the word again if you want to specify a status other than 1.
