The real issue with Trump is that we don’t know what he’ll do. He could just be running his mouth and we get involved in no military conflicts at all, or he does something crazy.
Same, if I were in a swing state I would hold my nose and vote for her. Hillary is so unlikable and when I am reminded of her record it gets really hard to prefer her. I was a Bernie supporter and basically only want her to win because Trump is a joke and a much worse option.
Since I am in New York however and there is basically no chance the electoral votes do not go her way, I might as well give a third party candidate a shot.
It would be great if Gary Johnson or Jill Stein made it to the debates, they would probably keep it from being the circus it is likely going to be.
Maybe I will try vote in the US for the first time. I don’t like Clinton at all, but I think it is important to oppose a man who says the science of man made global warming is a Chinese hoax designed to destroy American manufacturing.
Also of note: 44 percent of respondents rated Hillary Clinton's DNC keynote as excellent or good, Gallup says, versus 20 percent who called it poor or terrible. (By contrast, Trump's speech was in the red: 35 percent called it excellent or good and 36 percent said it was poor or terrible.)
Trump's RNC was least effective party convention in three decades, poll finds: http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2016/08/01/gallup_republican_national_convention_poll_not_great.html?wpsrc=sh_all_tab_tw_top via @slate
I think that Trump’s narratives are only fit for a reality show on Fox TV, which I never want to watch.
Bernie Sanders has urged his supporters to vote for Hillary Clinton, noting that the United States is not a multi-party parliamentary system and that "you're gonna end up having a choice. Either Hillary Clinton is going to become president, or Donald Trump."---Wikipedia
Don’t you think that it is too permissive with the bully to wait until he orders the CIA to use the enhanced interrogation techniques in a military base?
First, I tried to compare the attitudes of “white males” and “nonwhite females” towards two candidates. Underlining those words was simply done to emphasize them. Second, I did not post links to a “buzzfeed”, which is not familiar to me. Third, in public places “anatomically explicit” words should only be used when they are necessary.
I always wondered if Yutaka is a man or a woman. Maybe it is obvious and I just don’t know Japanese names well enough. Either way, he/she is certainly a cool guy/girl.
Obama can do very little at this point, from what I’ve heard. This article is actually a better summary of the problem. The new president will appoint at least one, and possibly as many as 4 supreme court justices, 3 of which are liberal. The reason we now have an oligarchy in the US instead of a democracy is largely due to the decisions made by the supreme court.
Thanks for the article…if it is true that the Hillary camp is the lesser of two evils is terms of Supreme Court nominees, that is really sad in my opinion
I get that. My problem was that you ignored every single argument against Clinton and made it about gender and sexism. There´s many other factors that don´t have to do with identity politics.
You did and somebody else already commented on it.
I don´t think I´ve ever met someone who feels uncomfortable with the words penis and vagina. There´s more vulgar words that I wouldn´t use “in public” though.
I might have a more “sexually liberal” cultural background, who knows.
Personally, I’ve always felt very comfortable indeed with vaginas
(In fact, ever since I was about 15, I don’t think there is anything in this world that I have focussed on with greater intensity and fascination - although I guess German grammar did come a fairly close second for a while when I was a student!)
I live in the “swing state” of Pennsylvania. I need to see the debates to get a clearer idea of where the candidates stand on the issues, but right now I am leaning towards Donald Trump. Hillary’s stance on Russia is far too aggressive and hawkish for my tastes. See: - YouTube
Not to say that Putin is a good actor, but like it or not, Russia is a major actor in the world and I don’t see how a hostile relationship between Hillary or Putin will be good for global stability.
Donald Trump gets a lot of heat and is called a “racist” for his strict immigration policy, but I think that is unfair. Many Asian countries, for example, have strict immigration policies. When I visited China, I had to carry my papers with me and had to constantly register at the local police office. Not saying that we should emulate a country like China, but I wouldn’t label such policies as racist.
I can´t reply to most of your other comments so I´ll just respond here^^
@sexism
I don´t think that people should be judged based on their gender. People are individuals. Voting for Clinton because she´s a woman is just as nonsensical as not voting for her because she´s a woman.
