How can I cut amount of known words?When I see that I khow 11000 words,I feel uncomfortable because half of this amount is forgotten by me.
My take on it is that “known words” reflects the number of words you understand the meaning of when you see them, not the number of words you can use fluently. If you come across a word that you marked as “known” but you don’t remember it, simply highlight it and turn it back into a LingQ.
I see it as a general reflection of my progress - as long as that number keeps going up, I’m learning. But I don’t think of it as an accurate reflection of my vocabulary, and I don’t think it’s supposed to be.
