Hello everyone, It`s a pleasure to text this message to you, so please let me know If I am doing well or If I am lost, here behind the text I am going to add a screenshot of my LingQ stats, please take into account that I started twenty-four days ago, also I have to add that in my country I received English Classes(my target language is English), furthermore, the study hours are divided with respect conversation hours, In addition, I would like to know how many hours do you think I am going to reach Proficiency level? Nonetheless, I know that proficiency is a wide spectrum, hence thanks to all who are going to read and answer It is always a pleasure.
Farewell
Hey! I think you are doing great. I see similar stats in my French Journey so I think you are on the right path to become proeficient sooner that you think you are going to be. Maybe focus more on the listening side, listening is often overlooked but I think is really important in conversations. Best of luck in your Journey!
Thanks for your comment mate, I hope I am not being rude however, which level would you say you have in French? also I have seen that You have been studying german, how is it going?, why do you chose German?
Buena suerte!
Good work. Language learning is a long-term activity, so you need to keep going.
If you are interested in understanding the spoken language, you would benefit from more listening. If you get 500 hours of listening, you’ll have reached some basic level of proficiency. At 1,000 hours of listening, you will be quite good. I think this is a good goal to aim for, if you are serious about understanding English TV shows and movies from a range of accents.
It’s good to listen to content you have actively studied or read. You can also try reading the text at the same time as listening to the audio.
Hum so in French, since is very similar to portuguese Im having a fast progress and I think in terms of reading Im reaching high b1 but the others are still lacking for lack of experience. German is a different story, also very competent on reading, maybe I would say b2 but the other 3 skills are also lacking. The moral of the story is that Language learning is a 4 skills commitment and you should work on them little by little. I really recomend to listen a lot that gives you a great confidence to then have convos with natives.
