All out war on ISIS

I apologize for the assumptions.

It’s all good buddy. Maybe I could have emphasised even more the fact that I was talking about ISIS fighters?

(But the OP was about an attack which specifically targeted an ISIS stronghold in a remote non-populated area - that’s the kind of thing I’m getting at.)

The war is not meant to be won, it is meant to be continuous.

War. A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

did it change anything? or was it postering by trump to say look what i got in my arsenal and i can do this

@usablefiber @Prinz

So you guys are convinced that Saddam used Chemical weapons in the 80s ? Are those the same that Colin Powell showed the UN in the early 2000s?

@usablefiber "The idea that this problem goes away with ISIS is ridiculous. It is a long term problem that relies on both regional stability and reformation of Islamic religious norms in war torn countries… both of which will take time and smart diplomacy achieve. "

This is the kind of statement that you write in a college paper or that a politician would say. How about we leave them alone and let them figure it out on their own?

Oh Prinz, lesson 1 on how to deal with liberals trying to call you racist: Say yes to everything they say.

Next time, when a liberal comes up with “It doesn’t matter because they’re Muslim right?” just reply “Yes, that’s EXACTLY what I was saying!”

@Jaliscostate:

"…Next time, when a liberal comes up with “It doesn’t matter because they’re Muslim right?” just reply “Yes, that’s EXACTLY what I was saying!..”

I don’t know about that!? I mean, why would I agree to something that I’ve never said and don’t believe!? :-0

Very often, I just don’t engage with SJW-types if they are going to sprout fabrications, straw men, etc. But our friend usablefiber seems to me to be me a more serious and two-sided kind of guy.

(Anyway, he has apologised - in fairness.)

Don"t suppose we’ll ever really know http://sc.mp/ubq8H9
It would be nice if the Chinese finally got serious, both for the Korean penninsula and the Middle-East. I’m not sure we are there yet.

@Jaliscostate

“…So you guys are convinced that Saddam used Chemical weapons in the 80s ?..”

Either he did, or an awful lot of Iranian soldiers just suddenly died from heatstroke…

I know. I wouldn’t put usablefiber in the SJW box. He’s okay. However, that “so you don’t care about them” comment was along those SJW lines.

I said that because that’s what I do with my anglo-saxon liberal classmates and it works wonders.

@prince of whales

hahaha okay you win.

“…I said that because that’s what I do with my anglo-saxon liberal classmates…”

Anglo Saxon…hmm…so you have a problem with folks with pale skin, fair hair, and blue eyes…?

That sounds like RACISM buddy! :smiley:

Putin says: “Mine is even bigger!” :slight_smile:

I’m waiting for Erdogan to make a bigger one now. These 3 are cute.

How dare Russia bring the patriarchy into the military boasting how the “father” of all bombs is bigger than the “mother” of all bombs.

sexist and misogynistic i say!

@Prinz

People here are mostly French Irish and Scottish so that’s how we refer to the other Canadians. Not about their looks, they look great. They’re jut confused.

Trump’s ‘mother of all bombs’ and Putin’s ‘father of all bombs,’ a match made in hell.

Maybe they should get together and make some cute baby bombs? :slight_smile:

Apropos the Russian bomb, the Mail article claims it is already comparable to a small tactical nuke:

“…The thermobaric device yields the equivalent of 44 tons of TNT using about seven tons of a new type of high explosive. Because of this, the bomb’s blast and pressure wave have a similar effect to a small tactical nuclear weapon, although on a smaller scale. The bomb works by detonating in mid-air. Most damage is inflicted by a supersonic shockwave and extremely high temperatures. Thermobaric weapons differ from conventional explosive weapons in that they generate a longer, more sustained blast wave with greater temperatures. In doing so, they produce more damage over a larger area than a conventional weapon of similar mass. According to General Alexander Rushkin, the Russian deputy chief of staff, the new bomb is smaller than the MOAB but much deadlier because the temperature at the centre of the blast is twice as high…”

Tactical nukes? Maybe we don’t need 'em after all…
