500 - server error when trying to import writing report

This morning when trying to import my writing report I got a 500 - server error. This happens with Safari on my iPad and in Mozilla on my pc.

Hi Angela,

It looks like there is a long unbroken string of characters in your submission that is breaking the import process. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I assume something scary was happening… :wink:

We will have to implement some kind of way of dealing with this string of text. Since you can’t edit it until you import it, you are kind of stuck for now. I will let you know when we have a fix for that.

Lol. I was trying to be cute with the title, and it got truncated when I submitted it. My tutor corrected the truncated word. That’s the only long string I have, I think. I don’t have aaahhh anywhere in my submission, I don’t think. Now that would be scary. :wink:

That was someone else who had a similar error. We are looking into it. We hope to have it fixed in the next few days.

Hi Angela,

It was because your title was too long. We have implemented an automatic shortening action so you should be able to import it now, I believe. Let me know if it still doesn’t work.
