Hi, I don’t think that that’s a bug. Lingq handles that one like one word for a while now → see former forum threads.
An apostrophe is used in many other languages for pronunciation reasons or to highlight certain grammatical features. An apostrophe normally breaks a word or adds a prefix or suffix. This is not really a bug.
I understand your perspective, but I believe it’s not a significant issue.
By adopting the mindset of a LingQ word, you’ll free yourself from many obstacles.
I’m also quite selective, but I don’t view this as a problem.
When you consider (generalizing) that you need to read at least 4 million words to achieve a mature level in a language and have 50-60,000 known words (LingQ words), you can easily account for an error of 2,000-5,000 “incorrect” words, which is not a major concern.
Personally, I prefer to have the team focusing on addressing significant bugs. While these details could be approached differently, I don’t prioritize them in my language learning journey with LingQ, in my opinion.
In this case, it separates the article**1 from the noun.
An atomic lingq shouldn’t be forced to include the article.
**1 In French, if an article ends with a vowel and is followed by a word starting with a vowel, the article’s vowel is omitted (an elision).
