Languages I speak: English is my native language. However, growing up in South Africa, I also passed my Afrikaans 1st language exams at the college level. I now regret that, despite living in a country with 11 official languages, I am only proficient in two.

Currently, I reside in my fourth country, Portugal, and firmly believe that communicating in the local language enhances the depth of life experiences.

My language goal is to converse in Portuguese (European).

To enhance my Portuguese vocabulary, I use Duolingo, and to improve my skills, I’ve returned to LingQ.

Through Facebook, I’ve connected with a native Portuguese speaker, engaging in language exchange as each other’s language parent.

Beyond languages, my interests include permaculture, travel, food, and personal growth.

I manage a family business providing pet and house-sitting services, and in retirement, I offer financial coaching.
