Youtube video in way of text

Hi,

I like how you can import straight from youtube, but when I go through the transcript I have to constantly move the Youtube insert out of the way because it covers the text.

Is there any way to get around this?

It does waste a lot of time.

There’s an add-on that supports various video layouts.

they actually have already solved this but only only on mobile for some reason. I have been wondering when its coming to pc

If don’t need to see the video, it’s possible (on PC screen) to move the video outside the text area to the left. But if I want to see the video, I move it to the right of the text. But there it hides the word list (if the list is long).

@David72 At the moment, there is no solution for the issue you mentioned. This is something we will have improved in the near future.

At least when I open up the sidebar, it pushes the text to one side and I can have the YT window hovering in the sidebar area.

Not ideal, but better than before.

i mainly use desktop and on pretty much all browsers you can pop out videos to move around your screen and resize them so what i do is move the lingq video to the corner of the lesson to where you can’t see it, split screen my lingq tab and video side by side and study like that. I do agree that there should just be an option to hide the video thing if you want too but idealy you would just want to be able to select the text on the video itself so that you never have to look away.

Thanks for the tip. That’s a bit better. I did split screen on my Mac.

It still quite difficult to control it all - like keeping a racing car on an icy path.

At least with Firefox on Win11, I haven’t found any way of doing this.
It’s possible to move the video around in the Lingq window, but not outside this.

Actually, now I’ve got used to it, split screen is a pretty good workaround. Even better if you put the YT video in cinema mode so it’s even bigger.

i use firefox there is usually a small square in a video that you can click and it pops out. You can also right click the video and do it if its not here
