YouTube Import Bug? - LingQ Randomly Splitting Video Into 2 Lessons

Hi, so I imported this entire YouTube playlist into a new course in LingQ (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyCF8k8_gufkZZCafQyVeMUJhMO3t1Zx8) and only after I was done did I realize there were twice as many lessons as videos from the playlist. I opened the duplicate lessons and it seems LingQ randomly started splitting the last few minutes of the videos into a new lesson.

So for example for video 2 (1h34s) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdmQZfFCK2I&t=96s) I have a lesson with 51m13s and the subtitles cut off there too, and a second lesson with the last 8m57s of the video and the remaining subtitles. This happened to every single video in that playlist.

I wondered if this might be LingQ cutting off videos that are over 1 hour long, because none of the <20min long videos I imported from YouTube at the same time had this problem, but if that were the case then why would the videos cut off at different points before they reach 1 hour?

I also saw this thread in the forum that might be hinting at the same problem ( Upload of only half of 20min YouTube video ), and the video was much shorter.

I checked and this didn’t happen to any of the 1h+ long videos I imported from Youtube a few days ago, so it might be some new bug.

I really hope this gets fixed soon, because I mainly use LingQ to import YouTube content and I feel like I just wasted half an hour uploading stuff I’m gonna trash and have to start over on, super frustrating.

Here’s the link to the course I created (I had deleted the second lesson generated from the first video before realizing this happened to all videos uploaded): Entrar - LingQ

EDIT: Maybe an issue related to this? 6,000 Word Audio Transcription Limit

一节课词汇超过6000,就会切割为多节课,我导入过6个小时的YouTube视频,最终lingq将它切割为8节课,这是为了页面流畅度采取的措施,只需要一节一节学习即可,完全没有影响

Hmm that’s news to me, maybe I just never encountered this issue until now because Korean has a very compact writing system. Since the podcast eps I imported are half in English, it would make sense that the lessons went over the word limit.

I’ll probably just go back and delete the English from each of the lessons to ensure I can use the karaoke mode when listening to the whole episode without having to switch to another lesson and find my place again.

It would probably be a good idea to add this info on the 6000-word limit per lesson because I’d never heard of this until digging through old posts in the forum. Thanks for the reply!

@analuisall Yes, keep in mind that a lesson can have a maximum of 6000 words. If text you are importing is longer than that, it will be split in parts.
