I would like to know if it is possible to stop words changing their status after using flashcards. The reason is, I often know the meaning of a word when doing flashcards after listening to the lesson, but when I go back to them later I may not know them.
@seoul123 - There is no way for your words not to increase their status if you click Got it twice in a row. You can try playing with the status ie. changing from 2 to 3 instead of clicking Got it and then back to 2 the next time you see it. Either way, if it goes to status 4 it still has a grey underline in the text and will still be sent out to you in your Daily LingQs. That is the way the system is designed so that your level 4 LingQs do continue to get sent to you even after you think you know them. You will see that level 4 LingQs come back at you 3 times before they are truly Known.
If you don’t want your flashcards to change status, just press “escape” after each one and then even if you know what the word means you can just pretend that you’ve forgotten and that way they’ll never disappear.
Later, when you get to the point that you’re sure the word is forever embedded in your long-term memory, then you can change it’s status to 4.
I rarely click on “got it”. I just click on 2, then 3, then 2 etc. until I don’t want to see it any more.
Excellent. Thanks for all your help mark, JerseyMark and steve.
