When people only add a part of a book

This can be very annoying. If I´ve read half a book on LingQ, maybe 20 chapters out of 40, I wouldn´t be to keen on having to add all 40 chapters to have the whole book on here, but I might be ok with adding the later 20.

I´m wondering if it could make sense and/or be possible to allow some other user to finish adding the rest of a book in this case?

That will be a bit tough, since we can’t really allow users to make changes to courses imported by other members. I agree it would be great to have all imported books complete, but I am afraid that can’t be controlled that easy at the moment.

Yes I figured it could be problematic. Also hard to know when someone is just taking time in uploading and when they have abandoned it.

An idea could be if you are able to “merge” courses. Another user can create the rest of the course and then you merge it giving it to one of the two.

This could actually be very useful for users if there are people willing to do that job sometimes.

There could possibly be a way to allow the creator to flag a course as editable by the community similar to a WIKI?

Yes. For some languages, there’s a new course for every chapter of a book and that is so annoying to deal with. French has lots of cases like that.
