When is a bug not a bug: import

For some while now I’ve been meaning to report a bug, Often when I import a video, I get multiple copies. I invariably delete all but the first. But then yesterday I discovered that this is not a bug. You changed the way import works, and long videos are split, so that the audio is split across the fragments. I happen to think this is a nice solution, but the fact that you couldn’t be bothered to tell users annoys me.

Can I make a suggestion that when you make a major change to the functionality which is not obvious, that you tell your users?

You could send a short email to registered users, with nothing other than the change report. Or maybe a pop up warning window in the lessons? It would have to be distinct from the really annoying import popups, and stay until the user acknowledges reading it, otherwise I’d just ignore it.

@LeifGoodwin Thanks, appreciate your feedback. We will definitely do our best to do a better job in updating users on all changes we make.
