What is the multiple selection box when I tap a single word to creat ?
It gives me a sense that I can either create a LingQ for the single word I selected, or for a group of words.
But for the life of me I can’t figure out how to specify the multiple selection rather than the single word. I can tap out, then manually long-press to select multiple words, but that’s not my question.
Yes, you can select a phrase and save it as LingQ. On the app version tap and hold on a word and you will then see an option to select a phrase.
On the website, click and drag to select a phrase you want to save. You can select and save up to 9 words.

My question is about the image. You see there are two boxes around the words. Why is there a small box and a large box? How do we use this?
Because it’s highlighting the word and the phrase in which the word appears separately.
Yes, but why? It only does that with certain words.
@balat It does that to show you related phrase for the selected word, in case you’d like to save the phrase too.
