I am similar, as i am learning Spanish because It’s enjoyable to me and I want to be able to actually use it.
that is cool man you got a plan i’m still torn between portuguese or continue with french .
This year I have learned that reading and listening to the same text is not so much important when my mother tongue is similar to the target language. (I’m Czech learning Russian). On the other hand when I was learning English listening and reading same stuff was a necessity. Next thing I found is that beating myself for making mistakes is useless. All the best for 2019.
