What are your most common problems with English?

KS

Everyone experiences that. You just move on and eventually these “blank spots” become less frequent.

Steve
I hope for it! I have no problems, when I read simple sentense wich contains a subject, the predicate and object. But if the sentense includes two subjects or another turn (for example gerund, participial construction), I feel difficulty.

Whether correctly I have written this text? I hope you understand me and forgive my imperfection

Could you explain, what does it mean exactly …of you house red wine? It’s a handmade wine or anything else?

Ks, the same happens to me sometimes. It’s normal, and reading is a great method to become more familiar with the language.

Could you give me more words to use… because I think that one problem when we are speaking we always use the same words whe we can use other words to refer the same thing

What about expression “of you house red wine”? What does it mean?

with regard to “house wine” please refer to an answer already provided by me on this forum.

"A half-bottle of the house red coming right up. In restaurants we sometimes order 37.5 cl “half-bottles” of wine. The house red is the red wine recommended by the “house” or restaurant, usually lower cost. Coming right up = will be brought to you or I will bring it to you. "

The expression should read “of your house red wine”. Can you please tell us where you found “of you house red wine”. If there is a typo in our text we will have to correct it.

OscarP, Hi!!!
I agree with you! Reading is useful for study of foreign language. Usually I read the special literature (it is involved to my work) and so my English is limited. For example, I understand compound sentences on my profession, while I can not understand same simple phrase of a daily life

Hi again Ks,

When I was at the University, technical English was familiar for me, and it was not very hard to understand, but I didn’t know the most common expressions in English. For example, with “find”, I knew the meaning of “I need to find a key”, but not the meaning of “I find this movie boring”. I just can say that it takes time to get accustomed to the new language.

One of the most largest problems I have about the English Learning is the various meanings and uses of the verb “to get” and about the particle “just”.

You will just have to get used to them! Just get going and do more listening and reading. Just go and get yourself some good content from the LingQ library. You will soon get to the point where it all seems just natural. Sometimes it is just hard to get started, but once you get into the habit of listening a lot, you will just find that it sort of gets to you. You will want to just listen all the time, and other people will get tired of watching you just listening on your MP3 player all the time. It just gets annoying. But as long as you do not get tired of doing it, you will find that you will get better and better at using “just” and “get”. Now just get off your rear end and just get going! I just hope this message gets to you. I mean do you get it now?

I just want to say, many thanks.

Well that gets rid of that problem. If you get stuck just let me know.

You don’t know how important is your help to me, my teacher. I’ve learnt a lot of English with “LinQs” and you. Thank you so much. I admire you and I apreciate your kindness. I keep on acquiring (“inputing”?) knowledges.I don’t speak yet but I hope doing it as soon as possible.

Thanks for the kind words. You have enough knowledge of the language to start speaking. Why not sign up for a discussion here at LingQ. If you start Spanish discussions I will sign up to talk to you.

Hi, OscarP!!!
I agree with you again about time for accustoming to a new language. Just it I try to make at a English forum.

Steve, this time your answer about getting used with the meaning of “get” is totally superb!!
You are using “get” all the time in the asnwer. It’s funny and also very didactic

Steve, hi!
I read and translated your message about “get” and “just” for a long time. Thanks for the difficult and interesting task!

I think that my problem when I speak English is in a presence other person, because I stay gawk before talk about something.
I can read, I can listen, but I have many difficult when I need to speak.
I do no which do for resolve this problem.
This my feeling and in other moment I comment about the text.
