First bug: sentence translation won’t work at all. Nothing…
“translate lesson” does work on the mini-stories. I have tried two different languages. Sentence translation not working at all. Tried waiting a while in case it was a delay issue but nothing ever comes up.
Kind of a bummer since I use this a lot. I may have to revert to the old version until this is fixed, since most of my stuff won’t translate with lesson translation anyway.
When using the vocabulary review for a lesson, sometimes when the question appears an answer is already highlighted. Even when you pick the correct answer the other answer remains highlighted. However, doing a mouse over on the answer can remove the answer that was automatically highlighted when the question loaded.

That being said the beta seems to be running much more smoothly now. Thanks for the hard work!
After importing a video from YT, it is impossible to edit the title at all when going to the lesson page. It works perfectly in v.4, but not in the new version.
Previously deleted courses still appear and it is impossible to delete them at all. I have tried adding them back to studying or editing them, but I have a message saying “this course has been deleted or is private” and I cannot access the recycling bin icon at all. These courses are invisible in v4, but for some reason, they keep reappearing in v.5.
Yesterday I noticed a lesson I had completed was not automatically added to my playlist when I opened the app. I had to search for the lesson and manually add it to the playlist. Lessons I completed before using the beta automatically showed up in the playlist on the iOS app which was helpful.
When you load the library it is helpful to have the list of lessons recently played, but there is no easy way to select the next lesson in a course. I cannot find any way to select the next lesson on the library page, so I have to go to the courses page and even then I have to scroll to the very bottom to find it. It would be great if there’s a way to easily open the next lesson in a course.
In V5, you can now create LingQs from the lesson title. This means it gets treated more like lesson text and is shown as the first paragraph in the text area. To edit it, you need to edit it there. A little unintuitive and we’ll see how to make this clearer.
As for the courses issue, we continue to work on some of these caching bugs. They will be resolved in time. Thanks for your patience.
Newly imported article not showing up continuing study section, nor in the course I imported it to. Also, interestingly the course I imported to, while being one I’ve recently accessed for another article, appears toward the bottom of the list even with “Last Opened” sorting used…
There has got to be a way to disable the “paging moves blue words to known” warning that pops up after every page. It’s not on the old version, or the v5 apps. Only the beta website. I think it’s critical to my reading flow.

i just joined the lingq beta, i’m using google chrome and the website doesn’t load after log-in, just blank everywhere. I know it loads something because the cursor changes from the arrow to the click-action, but I can’t see anything at all.
I’m having the same problem. I first noticed it when I imported a lesson from wikipedia using the chrome extension and when the lesson loaded it was just a blank white screen. Then, when I tried to load the homepage of the beta site, I got the same blank white screen. The size of the scroll bar seems to indicate that there is a lot of content on the page, but even when I scroll down to the bottom, I don’t see anything - just the same blank white screen.
Same symptoms here. I also just tried LingQ 5.0 Beta for Web for the first time. Tried with both Firefox and Vivaldi. Opened dev tools console and saw many messages. Here are all the errors:
“Uncaught SyntaxError: expected property name, got ‘&’” from ticket.js:628:19
GET https://beta.lingq.com/static/webapp/blckrbbt-81cfb89088338e33a2ca.css [HTTP/2 404 Not Found 108ms]
“Uncaught (in promise) DOMException: The play method is not allowed by the user agent or the platform in the current context, possibly because the user denied permission.”
In Hebrew sentence translation works in sentence mode, but when you select more than nine words in regular reader mode you no longer get a translation. All you get is a message that you cannot create a lingq for more than 9 words.
By the way, the more I used the beta the better I like it. I’ve now moved over completely from the older interface
