does anyone know of a good solution to the character problem for the pharyngeal fricative? people have a habit of typing an upper l and 1, which I find is atrocious for reading purposes etc… In some cases there are those that add a very small ‘c’ in the corner between the two letters, or a period etc, and in one strange orthography I have seen the example of an ‘l’ with an x attached at the bottom… in terms of speaking, I have noticed that in some cases people supress the sound and go around it, while at the same time weakening the “” and the softer " as being less perceptible… this might all be just due to how literate language is taking a beating by lowbrow culture in some languages that use these sounds, but I could be totally wrong… who knows…
