Oops, you’re right, Imyirtseshem - I read it through before but it sounded like a similar but different issue, but re-reading it now I can see it’s the exact same thing, sorry about that, I was getting too tied up with noticing it with new LingQs.
Like you, I don’t use the SRS much, and focus more on acquiring the words by seeing them in context the context of the whole lesson, but as they are all updating (it just seems to be a display bug from what I’m seeing), I’m not too concerned about the wrong colour showing. Reloading the lesson afterwards corrects the display, so if it was a long lesson, reloading it half way through might make it easier to follow your progress. A bit of a dirty workaround for the time being though.
Same here Jingle - that screen needs to be resizable.
Yeah, Lyise. I do some pretty big lessons (I’ve gone over the 10,000 word limit and had to split things haha) so it’s a bit of a nuisance having to reload and find my place within the audio and everything. But, I’m sure the devs will sort it out pretty quickly. I’ll cope with it for a short period of time.
@Lyise - As lymritshem says, we are aware of this issue and working on it. Thanks for letting us know!
@Niksa - The status is changing but is not being updated on the vocabulary page until you refresh. We will see if we can make this happen somehow.
Regarding your created LingQs stat, it’s a long story… We have had to make a change to the way we track Learned LingQs. Up until now we have been relying on a log to track this data but we just end up with inconsistencies this way. We are now actually counting the number of your LingQs that are status 4 so the Learned LingQs numbers are exact. This means that your All Time Learned LingQs number is exact now, However, in order to give you data over the variety of periods in the stats dropdown we have to track the date on which you moved the LingQ to status 4. Since we don’t have this date already, all of your LingQs were given a date 1 month in the past and will therefore not show up in your stats any more recently than this. Future LingQs will be tracked correctly but any learned LingQs from the past will only be accurately tracked in the all time totals.
There is no way to bulk change your hints unfortunately. However, if you change your Hint language to Russian, it should be remembered for future LingQs. You should make sure it is Russian so that your Russian hints aren’t showing as English hints in the future… :-). We are looking at ways to batch change hint languages but it’s a bit of tricky issue since all of a user’s hints may not be incorrectly identified. For now, it can only be done one at a time.
@ Jingle, lmryiteshem - We see that issue now. We had never noticed it before since it isn’t apparent if you have a scroll wheel on your mouse. With a scroll wheel you can scroll that window. There are two sets of vertical scroll bars there for some reason. We’ll see what we can do. We can also see if resizing is an option.
It is good too because it is easier to make a hint from multiple dictionaries. EG. for Mandarin, the Google translate may not provide transliteration, but that can be, now, more easily added from other dictionaries without toggling through a ton of windows.
EDIT: Just found that Google translate does provide transliteration for Mandarin… ooops
At the moment, the changes are too confusing for me, and it takes much longer to make lingQs for my words. I have to say that I’d rather go back to the old system which worked much faster for me. It also allowed me to see everything better. I’ll miss it.
@zkaplanova - I am finding the changes significantly faster and more convenient than before. What are you finding slow? Are having difficulty figuring out where everything is? Would it be helpful to make a video showing how to use the new controls?
Using the export option (drop down field) I receive “Do you want to erase?” message
(It would be nice to have a separate “export link” in the menu field, maybe next to “import”, rather than only having it in the drop down menu)
If I click on “4” the sorting/ filter function doesnt work.
I’ve a big problem. A have added dict.cc and leo.org as dictionaries for English-German in my English slot. First, I tried Leo and it worked fine (beside the scrolling). Then I tried dict.cc, one of my favorite dictionaries. When I now open the dictionary on a LingQ the lesson disappears and instead leo.org is opened. It is not shown in the widget, it is shown as a site and my lesson is no longer opened! I hope you can understand my problem. At the moment I’m not able to work on my English lessons!
I like the new vocabulary page, but I’m uncomfortable with the new LingQ Widget:
Where is the “delete” button? I mean the one that made a word blue again if one unintentionally had LingQ’d it.
I use Hoepli.com dictionary for German. Before, when LingQing a pretty simple word (such as “Bahn”), the dictionary automatically gave me the translation, whereas more complex words, such as “Arbeitnehmervertreter” had to be looked up manually. But that was ok. The bad thing is that now I must look up manually even the simplest words, because the frame inside the LingQ widget seems not to transmit the word to the dictionary.
Google Images does not work from inside the widget.
