My Roman Catholic paternal grandparents were pretty upset when my dad married by Ashkenazi Jewish mother. They grew up in Brooklyn with mostly Jewish neighbors, but they just didn’t like the idea of the intermarriage thing. The day my parents said I was having a bris and not getting baptised there was a big fight, but as far as I know they got over it. They just like to know that I have a religion…
