I do not know how to record subtile from tv unless they are included in the show itself. Is there a way to record subtiles from teletext too or from digital tv ? In the past it was easy to record one channel and watch another one at the same time. Now with digital tv we have more channels but we can only record what we watch or do not look tv when recording.

Google officially announced that it opens its automatic captioning and transcribing service. Immediately, the automatic captioning of You Tube videos ( which also means - of audios) will be available to certain Google’s “partners”. Soon, the technology will be available to a broad audience of audio and video content owners developers and users, apparently for free.
This probably means an important milestone for the computer-assisted language learning. There are two parts. First, If you already have the transcript of the audio, Google will be ready to convert the transcript into the timed captions. Second, if you lack the transcript, Google will be ready to produce it from your audio or video using its Automatic Speech Recognition. In The second case the quality may be low, but you will be able to correct the transcript.
In the beginning, the audio and video in English only will be accepted, but Google is working on moving to other languages.
