To Helen

Hi Helen,
I can’t find any suitable time for 1 on 1 discussion next week or this week. There a lot of group discussions that you offer, but I prefer 1 on 1.

Bear with me please Vera…I’ve had to leave slots for my discussions with my French, German and Russian tutors, and I’m not too familiar with all your timetables yet!

How about if I reinstate the Monday evening one-on-one slots?

Monday evening like last weeks would be nice  Furthermore Tuesday evening or saturday morning are suitable.

Hi Helen,
I’d like you to know my preferred slots for 1 on 1 conversations
Monday: 4.45 - 6.00 p.m.
Tuesday: 1-2 p.m.
Thursday: 1-2 or 4.45 - 6.00 p.m.
Friday: 1-2 p.m.
Eventually each morning between 7.30 and 8.00 a.m., would be perfect for me, but I’m expecting it’s a dreadful hour for you.
The time is expressed in GTM+0.
Is there anything suitable for you?
I’d like to book 30 minutes at the same event, if possible.
Thank’s for your efforts in any case. I’m looking forward to speaking with you again.
Monica

Sorry Helen,
I need to cancel my slot on Tuesday. The others are of course still available.
Thank’s
Monica

My calendar has got rather complicated with the addition of courses and I’m still working out how to offer lots of sessions and still get the meals on the table at home!

I have cancelled some course sessions and added more one-on-ones, some of which will hopefully be good for you Vera.

Unfortunately Monica, the times that suit you best are our meal times in the UK and so I can’t do them on any day. We have some new English tutors though, maybe they have sessions at those times?

Hope to be able to talk to you both at some time soon,

Helen.

Hi Helen,
I’ll look for someother slot. As a mother I agree that the meals for children are more important.
Thank’s in any case
Monica

Thank you Helen.
Your Monday slot is too early. I booked a time on thursday. It’s not perfect but possible.
Maybe in the future you can offer Saturday morning again?

I’m afraid that my family rebelled against me working weekends and made me stop it :frowning:

They aren’t very happy about me working beyond about 19:30 GMT either, which is why I can only do it one or two evenings a week.

Hello Helen,

I am not sure if I am allowed to post my message on this thread…, but I have found on the Linq website that you have not yet determined topics for the lessons to be held next Wednesday and Thursday.
I’ll sign up for both of the lessons.
Personally I am interested in discussing topics like “advantages and disadvantages of recycling” and “should the statue of limitations on murder cases be abolished?” Topics related to the youth, such as juvnile crimes and NEETs will be also interesting to me.
What do you think about my idea?

Thank you for the suggestions Mihoko…what are NEETS?

I don’t think there is a statute of limitations on murder cases in Britain…is there is one in Japan and what is it?

“Not currently engaged in Employment, Education or Training” maybe? (judging from the above-mentioned juvenile delinquents)

As jeff mentioned, NEET is an abbreviation of “Not currently engaged in Employment, Education or Training.”
Maybe this term should not be used in the plural form…, should it?
I had thought this term was widely used in other countries.

In Japan, if a killer is not arrested by the police within 25 years, the police cannot prosecute the killer even if the killer confesses his/her crime aftter that time. But I have now found that there are no statute of limitations on murder cases in many countries… So I think this topic is not suitable for international discussions.

I have googled NEET, and thought about statutes of limitations, and created discussions around these and related topics.

Great ideas Mihoko, I appreciate all suggestions for topics for discussion from all LingQers! Please feel free to post them on the forum, put them on my message wall or e-mail me.

Thank you for considering my ideas about discussion topics.
If I come up with additional topics, I will let you know

Hi Helen,
I would like to set one-on-one with you, but I cannot find any time slots that I can join…
It seems that all your schedule is set up in midnight Japan time…

Is it possible to set up one-on-one, like every two weeks, from around 10PM Japan time?
Please let me know your idea.
Thank you!

I’ve set up my September timetable now Mari, there are now timeslots that should suit you. If not please let me know!
