The Ice Bucket Challenge

I have just watched Steve’s short “Ice Bucket Challenge” video over on YouTube. (I am glad people have stopped saying “iced water challenge”, it sounds so terribly formal, whereas “ice water challenge” is grammatically unsound, I feel.)

My husband died of ALS (or MND as we say in the UK), but I wholeheartedly agree with Steve’s stance. It is perfectly acceptable to refuse a challenge like this. It is a “selfie” of sorts, some people crave it, some don’t. I have set up standing orders for a couple of my husband’s preferred charities and give spontaneously to others.

I must admit, though, that I still feel ashamed from time to time when I do not give to animal charities…

If somebody challenges me to the ice bucket challenge, I will probably just ignore them. A lot of people I know have posted such videos online, and I have not watched any of them. I don’t necessarily think it’s a bad thing, but I am not interested in fads like this. I guess it was the Kony2012 thing that made me so cynical.

Were they in a ‘bucket?’ I suppose it’s not filled with icy water. It might be a small guarded box for fire fighters on top of the ladder.

Ok, that’s pretty bad. Here is a funny one.

I especially like the one where the woman’s bewbs come out.
