I think a “+1” Read button at the bottom of the lesson text would be convenient and logical place. I would be less likely to forget to increment my count (I’m forgetting regularly)
I agree - it would be really convenient to duplicate this button.
@sdom - The issue you are having with the dropdowns is not something we can do much about. You just need to click out of the dropdown if you want to use the arrow keys to scroll a part of the page. This is no different from any dropdown.
@spatterson - I will add your suggestion for one touch controls at the bottom of the lesson text. We’ll see if we can fit that in.

This was changed because we had people complaining that it was inconvenient to add a larger number than one, if they had not been recording their listening and reading and wanted to catch up. It is difficult to respond to single complaints. We never know, when we hear from one user, just how representative the views of that user are of how a majority of people use the site.
Note that there are “+1” counters on lesson descriptions in the My Lessons, and My Imports page for those who prefer to keep track this way.
In any case, we are now going to add in “+1” counters as well as a reminder at the bottom of the Lesson page.
We have a long list of improvements to make, and never know if responding to these requests on the forum page is always the wisest policy. Yet at the same time it is vital for us to hear this feedback so keep it coming.

If some users like to change counter more than +/-1 let`s give them such opportunity in other place of the system.

We’re quite a picky bunch, aren’t we…I guess we resent anything that takes our mind off of our language learning, but our minds work in different ways so keeping up with that is challenging; and, as you say, perhaps not always worth the effort.
To the flashcard system and motivation - I would love to see the flashcard system have a mnemosyne type repeater. There are so many nice features of the linq flashcard system but without a proper repeater it has no value for me. I tried using it several times and every time I simply quit because I had no basis for what and when to study (the daily list is just a static list of 25 without much value). Without a proper repetition sequence it is very hard to retain vocab.
I still manually copy every word that I want to pay special attention to over to mnemosyme. It is a major pain in the butt to copy but the repeating algorithm makes is a snap to manage my daily vocabulary and keeps me 100% motivated. I have 6000 Russian words in there memorized and a couple hundred unmemorized (I only put in one case or conjugation of a word) and every day it simply gives me 100-200 words I must go over that day based on my level of understanding of the vocab set and whether I missed prior days (list grows every day you miss so it keeps me incented to do every day and I kept use now for 2 years). After doing the vocab, I can simply concentrate on reading and listening.

It is difficult for us to guage the importance different issues to a wide range of users. The new ability to give a forum post a rose is one way for people to express an interest in a suggestion made by someone here.
I find the present flash card set up and our SRS algorithm quite satisfactory but I am not a regular or disciplined flash carder, rather a sporadic flash carder. People who prefer other flash card systems have the option to export their word lists to their preferred flash card system. At this point I would not see changing our algorithm as a priority, but that is just me.

I see a daily “due for review list” of exactly 25 – regardless of what I do with vocabulary practice in the system.
Exactly 25 every time across an entire word set cannot be optimal. Personally, I like to simply be told what to do daily with vocab since I dislike working with strictly flash cards so much. There is an optimal study and repeat pattern for optimal memory retention and I like mnemosyne because it figures it all out for me daily across my entire vocabulary set. Each day I can simply do vocab review as instructed and I know I am reviewing vocab optimally or close to optimally. I also like that I know once I put in a word into the list there is 100% chance it will become part of my known word list; the system will keep showing it to me until I get it and they automatically showing it on an occassional basis (and if I start messing it up again it will start showing again more often). With lingq, when I tried to use it, I never knew how often to study or what words I should be looking at. Soon, I found myself not using it any more out of frustration. Maybe it was simply because I was lazy.
Steve – I would love to simply export. It would save me lots of time and would suit my needs perfectly. However, the export button has never worked for me and I just tried again and it does nothing
@davidked - Your words are added to your SRS list based on the following schedule: Status 1 - 1 day, Status 2 - 3 day, Status 3 - 7 day, Status 4 - 15 day, 4a - 30 days, 4b - 90 days, 4c - never. You control when words are added to your SRS by the status of the word. If you always make sure to empty your SRS list, you will always be on top of your vocabulary. If you miss a day, of course, the words build up, but you can catch up again and reset the status anytime. You can access your SRS list in the Vocabulary section and use whichever review tool to review the words in it. That is our system and it works for most of our users. If you want something more specific, you will have to export your vocabulary. What specifically about exporting isn’t working for you? It is working fine for many others.

@sdom - It’s in the “More actions…” dropdown on the Vocabulary page. Just select your LingQs on the left, then select the “Export” option from this dropdown list.

@davidked - Are you doing as Alex described? Selecting words and then clicking the Export option from the More Actions dropdown? Give it a few seconds and the download dialogue opens.
