Spoken English Practice via Skype

English Language learners (non-native speakers), most of whom are already in the Intermediate Levels 1 and 2, and who are most probably be rated good, very good or even excellent in writing and reading, are having problems in Oral or Spoken English. Fluency and correct or proper pronunciation are among the numerous impediments for a non-native speaker to freely express himself/herself during English Conversations.

Business Process Outsourcing is a booming Industry in numerous countries and there are a lot of opportunities for job seekers around the world to actually have a career in this industry. One of the main skills / qualifications that an applicant for a position in this industry should possess is Verbal Communication and the English Language is the most commonly used medium of speech in this business. Fluency and pronunciation, in my opinion, are “obstacles” that forms as a barrier for job seekers who wants to pursue a career in this field.

That “barrier” is along my path and I want to get rid of it. I know that practicing my Spoken English with other people from around the world would be of great help.

Let’s practice Spoken English via Skype.

Let me see if I understand correctly. You are a non-native English speaker with high skills in reading and writing but would like more practice speaking the language. Practice would include working on proper pronunciation, becoming more fluent in conversations responding to questions on various topics, expand your vocabulary, and familiarizing yourself with natural English speech which includes idioms and slang. Your goal is to be able to freely express yourself in English (ESL).

You are seeking a native English speaker or someone with high fluency in English.

Your goal is to improve your skill to improve your job prospects.

How many hours a week do you want?

Do you have a deadline, for example an exam, or are you simply looking for a long time language exchange partner?

Will you be doing the Skype sessions through LingQ’s tutoring?

Exactly right with the goals Ma’am!
But I wouldn’t consider my skills in reading and writing high though. I haven’t really gone far with my quest for a higher education, and being just a high school graduate I would rather rate myself ‘average’ on those fields.
I have tried applying for a position in the industry that I have mentioned above just recently but sadly, I failed to pass the final interview… Phew! So close. Next step could have been a job offer if only I had the ability to express my ideas freely (and minus the ‘shaking thing’ because I usually get so nervous during interviews) back then.
I got challenged Ma’am, and I don’t ever want to go through this kind of experience again.
And so I suddenly had this burning desire to be competent, enhance my skills and face new challenges, along with the firm thinking that these would empower myself with a broader range of knowledge and skills that would surely pave way for my desire of personal development as well as my family’s prosperity.

I don’t have any deadline to meet Ma’am. Right now I just want to learn learn learn and practice practice practice (pardon my redundancy Ma’am, I just want to reiterate) before I decide to give it another try.

“Will you be doing the Skype sessions through LingQ’s tutoring?” -n I’m so sorry about this but could I just have an idea about what you mean here Ma’am?
