I am mainly using LingQ on Googe Chrome browser under windows 11, and am encountering a few (old and new) issues.
- When opening the browser the reader isn’t on the page where I stopped reading, but instead jumped back to the first page. Refreshing the page moves the position to the first page with unknown words, which isn’t where I stopped reading sometimes.
- “pages move to known” isn’t working relyable. Often, when moving to the next page, the remaining words are not set to known, and even if the page is indicated as “no blue words left” (the respective part of the progress bar on the top is green), it can happen that words are still left blue.
- When switching to sentence view, for example because I want to hear how a specific word is pronounced, the reader always moves to the first sentence with a blue word in it. Especially with the above mentioned issue, this can be a sentence several pages from the position I am currently at. I can bypass this by unchecking the “pages moves to known” setting, but that gives me tons of blue words remaining throughout the lesson, lots of which are artificially created by the word splitting algorithm.
- It would generally be nice if I could watch the part of a video a sentence corresponds to without having to switch to page view.
