Russian ё character

When I import texts, Linqq does not convert e to ё when that would be appropriate. As a result the stress and the pronunciation of the word are wrong when an audio is generated. Is there a way the Russian importation software could be enhanced so that umlauts are added to e when that is appropriate?

Thanks, we will see what we can do.

natives hard ever write ё they just know when its pronounced ё vs e , even books.

Yes. But the lingq audio generation software does not seem to have the ability to do what natives do by instinct, so it generates audio recordings of transcripts that mispronounce and misaccent the words without the added umlaut. That is rough for learners like me who have never heard the word pronounced by natives and who thus will learn it wrong if we listen to the lingq audio.

Yeah, it’s an issue, but I don’t see LingQ solving it anytime soon. I can’t imagine an easy fix to the issue and it would be considered low priority, at best. I’d just recommend preferencing native audio over TTS.

If Steve Kaufman can learn 20+ languages (including Russian!), he can figure this one out. I believe in Steve.
