The number 1 best seller on Amazon.com is a book called “Reasons To Vote For Democrats: A Comprehensive Guide”, which features several hundred blank pages. I guess if a Clinton supporter had written the book, it would have said “Trump is a Nazi” on Page 1 and then been basically the same.

I don’t really have time to read the book.
But there’s a really good 26 minute documentary on YouTube named “How Hitler came to Power: A Warning to America.” The socio-historical forces that shaped early- mid 20th century Germany are also present in the United States under Donald Trump.
The big difference is we have Steven Colbert.

Well it did get significantly worse so I’d say he has a point.
The problem is it is a slippery slope: coupled with the explosion of smartphone connectedness that most americans now have since the last 10 years.
Moreover, the republican party today is worse: they fully endorse more surveillance and spying more so than the democrats. However, again, we cannot exempt the NSA under Obama for furthering this agenda that began with the Patriot Act. It’s a problem of the governing body more so than a partisan idea.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but regarding issues such as surveillance it seems to me that the two parties speak very differently but yet do the exact same thing.

Now, if you are talking about blue dog democrats like Hillary clinton… yea, absolutely; she voted for the patriot act, but most of the democrats are better on their stances, at least in terms or rhetoric… but they have now gone batshit crazy with this russia crap so who knows. I’m sure many of them would not stand up to the NSA and the CIA if elected outside of the bernie sanders wing of the party who is more progressive.
I agree with that analysis. The Sanders wing doesn’t seem to control the party though (I guess you saw who’s running the DNC now).

This fake outrage with Chuck Schumer crying on TV is really about losing potential voters.
Same reason why Obama stopped the refugee program with Cuba weeks before he left office… because they vote republican. Funny how no one accused Obama of hating Cubans then.
By the way, when did the US constitution started to apply to foreigners???
