These last couple of days the website starting having problems; when I open a lesson, the right half of the screen just comes up with the ‘Loading’ animation and any lingq’s etc don’t come up. It happens on all three browsers (Chrome, IE and Firefox).
I’m in China, basic membership, if that’s relevant at all.
@ZhuaZi - Sorry to hear about this! Would you be able to open up a lesson in Chrome then open up the error console to see if any errors are displaying? You can find out how to do this here: Using The Browser Error Console - Garden Gnome
@LFJ - If you turn off your VPN/proxy do you notice any issues with the site?
These are my errors. The website worked once yesterday, but not today. It could be a problem with my computer or the internet on campus here, but all other websites are working fine.
@ZhuaZi - OK, I’ve passed this along to our development team who will take a closer look when they get a chance. In the meantime, if you can try from another network that may help us to better understand if it’s specific to your computer or an issue with a possible network firewall.
“I’m in Canada and I’ve noticed that happening occasionally. Refreshing the page takes care of it.”
While I haven’t had this particular problem, without the VPN running I’ve sometimes had the site, as well as other sites not open. After clearing cache it comes back up.
@ZhuaZi - Thanks for the additional information. It seems others in China aren’t having the same issue so it’s likely to be a network issue. I’m not sure if there is anything we can do in the short term but hopefully you’re able to find a way to get this working on your end!
I turned my VPN off and tried it just now. Experienced the same thing as in the description in the original post. The right panel just says loading and has the little animation going. Turned VPN back on and it’s fine though.
@all - We have an update coming tomorrow, so please check back once the updates have been pushed to see if any of you are still having issues with this.
