Problems highlighting 2 words

@alex - I think it was an imported lesson. I can’t find the lesson but I may have deleted it. I’ve created a lesson with just とはいえ in it and it gets highlighted all as one word… but I’m pretty sure I’ve ran into instances of that word being split into とは and いえ on more than one occasion. Maybe it has something to do with the lingqs around it? I’ll probably have to wait until I run into this issue again to give you an example lesson. Its not a frequent issue but I’ve been running into it more often lately as I’ve been lingq’ing more phrases.

If you can find another instance of where this occurs, just send me an email with a link to the lesson and the word combination that you’re having trouble saving. Also, try refreshing the page first to make sure the issue still exists.

Hi alex,

okay, thank you, that means we are talking about the same thing. Until now, I was only able to create LingQs by clicking on a single word. If i try to select two or more words (or even only one word) with the highlighting method, the same thing happens to me like cgreen0038 told us:

“While I could use my mouse to highlight the entire phrase, once I let go of the mouse button the highlighting goes away so I cant create the lingq.”

I tried this in several of the texts I’m learning with at the moment and it doesn’t work in any of them. I use Firefox 12.0, maybe that’s the problem. I also do never see the Play-Sound-Button of a lecture in my browser. I have to download the audio files and open them with Media Player. On my (newer) computer at work the sound button was there and I could listen to the audio without downloading anything.

Hope that helps!

@Kathi_W - It sounds then like it might be an issue with the browser. You should try updating your browser to the newest version of Firefox or try installing another browser such as Google Chrome to see if that works better for you. Also, on your older computer make sure that you have the post recent version of Flash installed: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

LingQ 2.0 will not allow you to create a lingQ out of multiple words if the first word is already a known LingQ.

[FireFox 17.0]

@pmilone - Thanks for the screencast. I’ve now added this issue to our list.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
