I’m not sure if this is a bug or a feature, but on Firefox web browser for courses and lessons the green plus sign turns into the red delete button when I go to click on it. To actually add a lesson to a course I need to open the drop down menu. Is this how it should work? At least there’s a confirmation before deleting but it’s very confusing to come so close to deleting my course by going to add more to it.

It’s not a bug, that same button is used to add lessons/courses to continue studying, and on the same button you remove them from the shelf.
How does that work? Because it doesn’t do anything you describe except delete my course or lesson.
