Hi , recently I was reading and listening one lesson in the lingq library but this paragraph no make sense to me.

“Dieses Wochenende entschloss ich mich, wieder Portugiesisch zu studieren. Vor zwei Jahren schon kaufte ich mir Anfängerbücher “Unterrichte dich selbst” und “Umgangssprache”. Ich ging beide durch, fand aber keinen richtigen Zugang. Als ich nach Portugal fuhr verstand ich nicht viel, wenngleich ich teilweise die Zeitung lesen konnte.”
