Long-time LingQ subscribers should have the option to temporarily pause their subscription without losing their accumulated data, particularly the LingQs they’ve created over years of learning.
Suggested solution:
- Introduce a “Pause Subscription” option that retains all user data (LingQs, vocabulary stats, imported lessons, etc.) during the inactive period
- Optionally limit access to premium features while paused, but preserve the learning history
- Resume full access upon reactivation without any data loss
This would:
- Encourage long-term commitment by offering flexibility during life transitions
- Reduce churn by making it easier for users to return after a break
- Honor the time and effort users have invested in building their language learning journey
