I am quite a fanatical LingQer normally but over the last 12 hours or so I cannot make any LingQs. I can hover over the blue words and see LingQs that others have made, or Google translate translation. When I click on the hint I want to use either nothing happens or I get the message ‘internal error’, or sometimes I get this message several times when I simply hover over the text.
I am assuming that this problem is at LingQs end because my other use of the internet is behaving normally.

Is it because there are a lot of people using LingQ who are doing big calculations? I did not think of this reason at first. Hopefully some of them will soon go to bed!
It shouldn’t have anything to do with that.
Can you give a bit more information, such as your browser and OS? Do you get an error if you click “Search Dictionary” as well?

Mac OS X, version 10.7.2, Firefox 5.0. Yes, I also get the error message when I click “Search Dictionary”.
The most recent version of Firefox is actually 9.0.1 – I don’t seem to be having any problems in Firefox 8.0. I’m curious why you’re on such an old version 
I am now using Firefox 9.0.1 and I am still having the same problem.
I am having the same problem, and I’m using Internet Explorer.
Disregard - it appears to be working now.

@rae68 - I’m still unable to reproduce this error. Is this happening with all words, or just some? Also, is it an issue in all the languages you are studying? Lastly, can you try another browser to see if you have the same problem? These will hopefully help us to narrow it down.
All is well at last. I think the problem is the local telecommunications system. Thanks for trying.
