No audio when hint comes up

I just started on lingq. I am learning chinese. The audio works fine when i use the player. However, when i click on a yellow word and the hint pops up, there is a small audio button that i press and nothing happens. It should pronounce the word, right? I am using internet explorer 9.0. Thanks.

The same happens when I click on individual Korean words.

i went ahead and re-posted my problem with audio on the support forum since that seems to be the correct forum to report problems with lingq.
