New Edit Page (Laptop) - Sharing with Students

I share lessons with my students by choosing “Private” and then putting in the names of the classes that can access those lessons.

I do not see a place to put in the names of the classes that have access. I do not wish to make them public and share with everyone.

Help!

@Jingle Sorry, we will make possible sharing private lessons with classrooms again. I asked our team to make that change.

This is pretty important for me so Thank you.

I see two other problems:

  1. I was editing a lesson and wanted to change it to a new course. The option to add a new course appeared, but there was no way to save the new course. When I pressed “enter”, the lesson was saved to another existing course, not the new one.
  2. There is no DELETE option on the lesson editing page. (I am trying to delete a lesson that has no one else has studied yet. This used to be possible.)

Thank you for bringing these points up! I’m still not convinced that the new lesson editing and creation interface is more efficient, but I want to be open to changes.

However it is very important to maintain key features! Please make sure that I can soon make my private lessons available for my classes, because I invest time and sometimes money in creating them.

Hi @Jingle

  1. Restrict to field will be added back to Private Sharing. Previously, we aimed to simplify the view, so Private Sharing had fewer options (compared to Shared/External), but this will be changed soon.

  2. When you click Add new course, enter a new course title and press Enter, the course field with new title is being focused, or are you moving the mouse/cursor to another field while pressing enter?

  3. In the Lesson Editor, click the down arrow next to the View Lesson label. There you will find the Delete Lesson option.

Do you know if this will happen any time soon? This feature is quite important for my weekly language tandem sessions.

@JulianiTOgo Yes, we will push this change very soon, hopefully on Monday.

Thank you for the answers. I did find the Delete option and I was able to make the new course option work as well. I thought I had done it correctly, but possibly my cursor ended up at the wrong place.

Where do I find it? I do not see it.

Is it under Advanced Settings?

@Jingle Correct, it’s under the Advanced Settings, below the Categories that are seen in your screenshot. Just scroll further down.

Further below there are just Tags and Provider, no “Restrict to”

Correct! I have tried and tried to get LingQ to update so that I can see something below. There is nothing. This is the bottom of my page.

That’s strange, I can see it on my end. Let me check with our team and I will get back to you.

Any progress? I really need this feature.

@Jingle Can you please post URL to that specific lesson from your screenshot?
