I’m using the youtube watching/reading mode in the lesson but the video/audio won’t pause or start when I click play on my earphones/bluetooth headset.
I am experiencing inconsistent Lingq-counts. I created at least 25 lingqs, but only five were registered. Maybe this is why daily goal notification doesn’t come up.
Also, I have recently seen that it can take up to 50 seconds to open the lesson. Generally, opening lessons have become substantially slower.
The caching issues I and others had previously reported on the web beta are also present on the app. Previously deleted courses still appear on the list and it is impossible to delete them. Next update, maybe ?
Also, could you introduce an option so that a course is NOT automatically added to our list whenever we open a lesson to check the contents? This is a real pain in the neck. A pop-up saying “would you like to add this course to your list?” would be welcome.
And please, add an option to delete any course we no longer want. I can only find a button to remove the course from the currently studying list, but there is no delete option!
I had issues too. I noticed it most on words read today count. I finished a lesson so it should’ve shown words read greater than 0, but it showed 0. I also felt like I had more lingq and known words. I think the app is simply not updating it’s view, because I can see the bumps in the counts on the iOS version (i.e. android app DID send the updates, it’s just not refreshing correctly on its display).
If I try to “refresh” the stats counts sometimes it seems to never return with values at all.
The app isn’t accepting or saving my LingQs today, I have seen this before on the normal app so I’m not sure if it is specific to the beta or not. I had to use the website to do my daily LingQ’ing.
It let me create the LingQ and acted like it saved it, however it would not register to my account. I have closed the app, refreshed the lessons, and gone to other lessons, nothing would register. When I went to the website, it had not registered those LingQs. I tried this on my Blackberry Key 2 LE and Samsung S6 Tablet.
Was this after updating the app to the latest version or was this current version working yesterday? If tomorrow this issue continues, I would greatly appreciate if you could send your credentials to support email so I could test using your account. In case you do send it, please change the password before to something random that you don’t use elsewhere.
I have a galaxy note 3 with Android 5.0 and I observed the following issues in version 5.2.19 (319):
-The app crashes when I click on “all” (right side) in the lesson overview. It happens for “my lessons” as well as for “what’s new”, “mini stories”, etc. and can be reproduced with 100% success.
-The app crashes when I click on any of my courses (under “continue studying” > “courses”). Can be reproduced with 100% success. The same happens btw. when attempting to access the course via any lesson > … > lesson info > course.
-Selecting single or multiple words within the lesson still doesn’t work - I reported this in the last version’s post and details can be found there, Tiago is aware: “When I try to select a phrase, the whole screen moves down by about 1 cm (leaving a black space in the top) while I press the finger down. Nothing is actually selected though. When I let go, everything moves back, but marking phrases is impossible. I also don’t seem to get a suggestion which phrases other users looked up (former grey background).”
-When I click the bottom right button for vocab review in the lesson, a grey bar appears in the bottom and the app freezes without crashing - also this can be reproduced with 100% success and was already reported in the last version.
The following issues that were reported last time are now fixed:
-“I also don’t see the tags of a word when it’s yellow. I do see them when the word is blue initially so it seems they get lost.”
-“I don’t exactly know how but after a while I also get an additional tick symbol in the top right corner of the word hint. When I click it the app crashes and after the restart it’s gone again for a while.” (note: a trash button and a tick still appear in the top right corner of the word hint irregularly and I can’t quite make out the logic but as I said, they don’t lead to a crash anymore)
As last time I unfortunately have to uninstall the beta as it is unusable on my phone + Android version but I’m happy to retest or provide any additional information if you need me to!
I logged on today to say exactly the same thing. Just because I’m trying to find something appropriate to study doesn’t mean I want everything I look at to be added to my course list. (only to find that it still can’t be removed in the app). This actually makes it harder to find the lessons I want to study. A pop-up asking if I would like to add a course is an excellent suggestion.
You can go to the course that you don’t want to be in your course list, and remove all lessons at the top menu and the course should be gone from your list.
You can go to the course that you don’t want to be in your course list, and remove all lessons at the top menu and the course should be gone from your course list. We do not find adding another popup for something like this is a good idea. The caching issues will be looked into.
Due to the above issue and trying out various methods of trying to fix it, I can no longer log in to the 5.0 Beta App. As such, I have reverted to 4.0 for the time being. I look forward to the next update.
I can’t replicate the issue at all so I can’t do much about this. Even more if it was working a couple of days ago with the same version. Might be something in the server that changed. I will investigate further and see possible causes.
