Most time efficient ways to learn a language

Thanks: I did about 2-3 hours a day everyday for six months.
EDIT: I notice I didn’t specify what I did.
anki (100 new words a day audio plus written). TPRS youtube 15-20 minutes per day for the first month (alice ayel and similar). Second month watched innerfrench plus some other youtubers (squeezie, solange te parle) (30 minutes per day). Third and fourth month same as second month but added Dix pour cent from youtube one episode every day. Month 5 I found lingq so did one episode per day of that. Month 6 same as month 5.

But I’m not so sure of how impressive it really is. I think I got a huge lift from already being fluent in Spanish, as well as French being a “feeder” language for English plus no major consonant/vowel sound differences plus being latin based. If I did Italian or Portuguese I expect I’d have roughly the same or better results. With other languages, I reckon it’s unlikely I will progress that far or fast.

For example:
On Russian so far I reckon I’m moving at about 1/4 of the speed…
For comparison I was doing about 100 new words a day in French in anki. I tried that with Russian and I got swamped inside of 2 weeks and still haven’t recovered. I literally cannot hold the new word meanings in my head even if I can recognize the word. Plus reading cyrllic at speed? fuggedabout it. I reckon also I could have at least made sense of the linq stories even almost at the beginning with French because I already had Spanish. With Russian even a month in the lingq stories are way too advanced.

Anyhow, this is fun and an experiment. We’ll see how much progress I make.

I studied japanese for two years during college, and then I had friends who were native speakers so they added a little bit of knowledge so I can keep up and progress, but for me one of the more challenging aspects will be the numbers, but for me its outside the school where you can really pick up and learn like, from apps, watching movies/series and even learning from your friends and relatives who are speaking the language itself. Now I got a job as a writer for a japanese gambling site, check out my blog for reference only. https://livecasino.io/blog/live-dealer/world-record-for-highest-prize-won-in-live-games

May I ask where you found the German anime to watch? Also, I find it difficult to find cartoons where the German Subtitles are the same as the audio as often it seems the subtitles are a translation of the original language of the show and then what is written for the voice actors is a different translation. It’s such a shame it’s often like that.

It turned out to be the most effective and quickest way for me to get into the English speaking community.
