Hi everyone! We here at LingQ Headquarters are experiencing a bit of snow today, but we hope the rest of you are having a wonderful week!
As many of you may know, we have a video contest that is currently running. However, there have been many questions as of late about how exactly the contest works. Rather than answering individual questions in various places, we thought it would be a good idea to create a thread with more detailed information along with a designated place for you to ask any questions you may have about the contest.
First, please have another look at the LingQ Video Contest announcement that went out. The text has been translated into many different languages: LingQ Video Contest - Win an iPod Touch!
Details about the contest:
You can submit your entries from now until 9PM PST on February 28th (that means you have just over 7 days remaining!). To submit your video, simply upload it to YouTube and send an email to contest(at)lingq(dot)com with the video URL.
On March 1st, we will upload all of the entries to a separate YouTube channel and voting will begin. The YouTube channel will be announced here and via email to all entrants.
The voting period will begin on March 1st and will last until March 15th, whereupon the winners will be chosen based on how many “likes” they have received. (Note that only “likes” on our specific channel will count towards the contest)
The prize for 1st place is a brand new iPod Touch (8GB) and a 1-Year Basic LingQ Membership.
The 3 runners up will receive a LingQ T-shirt and a 1-Month Basic LingQ Membership.
Videos can be in any language, whether it be your native language or target language (or both!). We do recommend English subtitles so that more people will be able to discover and vote for your video.
There are no length restrictions nor content restrictions, and videos can be however short/long or creative you like.
The only guideline to follow is it must be about how LingQ has helped you learn a language.
If you have any questions regarding the contest please post them here. Most of all, good luck to you all!
