LingQ of the Day - is there a rule for sending out

Is there a rule for sending out the email with the LingQ of the Day?
Sometimes it comes daily and sometimes it is missing like yesterday.

@Irene777 - It may be that you don’t have any words left to review. If you have already reviewed all your LingQs and no more are due for review then you won’t receive any LingQs that day. The solution here is to create some more LingQs :slight_smile:

@Alex
Sorry, that cannot be the reason, because I have added a lot of words. There are now fourteen pages, each with 25 words and very often without stat 4. The day before yesterday, I created nearly 50 words, not too much yesterday and today.
I received the mail neither yesterday nor today.

@Irene777 - I looked into this and our system shows that these emails were sent to you yesterday and today. Did these go into your spam folder? If you search your email for “LingQs of the Day” (or the German version of this), what is the most recent date that appears?

@Alex
wow, I did a new descovery. I didn’t know, that I can click on “review pending” in the vocable list for getting the same thing as it is coming (or not :slight_smile: by email.
Here, all dates from the 14th until 28th are listed. That is a helpful thing.

Only, for your information, there is no email in my spam foulder, and I didn’t receive these last emails from the last two days.

@Irene777 - Yup, that’s what I was going to suggest next! :slight_smile:

I’m not sure what happened with the emails, but if you notice them missing again please let us know.

@Alex - The last time I received my English LingQs of the day was last Monday (march the twenty-fifth). Interestingly, I’m receiving my Spanish ones as usual. It doesn’t really matter to me since I normally use the “Top 25” feature displayed on the welcome page, but I thought that you would like to know if there are other users with the same problem.

The biggest problem for me is that the LingQs of the day are sent to my email address. What I really need is to have them emailed directly into my brain!

@Colin
if you can find the right adapter or funnel, please let me know the deliverer!

@Alex
In the vocabulary area, I can see the date of today (29th) for sending out the LingQ of the Day, but no email arrived.

If I find a way, I will let you know. Maybe it can be introduced into the next big update of the website.

@Alex
Today, 31. of March, the email with the LingQ of the Day came back as normal after a longer stop.

Actually I have a question. I set my LingQs of the day to not be emailed to me, assuming that I would just get them on the iOS app instead, it that seems to have stopped. Is this how it is meant to be? This isn’t a problem because I can just filter them out of my inbox.

In my case, I didn’t change anything. I had nothing to do with the stop.

@Irene777 - I’m not sure what would have caused this, but we’ll take a closer look to see if we can find anything. I must say that I haven’t had any issues with this and have received my LingQs of the Day consistently over this same time.

@ColinPhilipJohnstone - If the LingQs of the Day are set to “Do not send” then the system won’t generate a list for that day. This was done intentionally, as generating lists for each user takes server resources and we wanted to streamline the efficiency of this process by only generating a list for users who have it set up to receive the LingQs of the Day email for any given language.

Hi all,

Another thing about the timing of LingQs of the Day is that sometimes I receive them after midnight (Central European Time). It is then dated as the following day, with no LingQs for the preceding day. Then when the actual LingQs for the next day come, they override the previous set on the app because I guess it is programmed so that you can’t have links to two different sets of LingQs of the Day for the same date. So I end up ‘losing’ a set of LingQs of the Day.

Does this happen to anyone else and is there a solution?

Cheers,
Nick

@jungleboy - We are looking into a way to fix this. We will let you know.
