Hi, just wondering if there’s any particular theme or purpose to the meeting? Is it just a social event? Steve seems to usually do these when he’s traveling around someplace.
The (unstated) theme is comparison of the flatness of stomachs of fellow LingQers.
Grandpa Steve knew in advance that he would beat everyone present, before and after the dinner. He will demonstrate his noticing skills.
@Bortrun - You’re more than welcome to come out! A member named Yukiko from Japan mentioned she would be coming to Vancouver so we decided it would be better to open it up and allow others to join in rather than just having her come out. It’s been a while since there was a LingQ meetup, so it’ll be a chance to meet some of the people behind LingQ and also to connect with other language learners.
We definitely will be comparing abs at the meetup…thanks TroisRoyaumes for mentioning that! There is no particular reason as Alex says, but it is nice to get together with other LingQers when possible. LingQers elsewhere should feel free to organize meetups in other locations. We are happy to broadcast meetups to people in your region if we can help spread the word. It’s fun!
Any abs I may have become a slight gut after dinner, so this early-evening meetup would maybe have worked out well for me. But naturally, I happen to be going out of town for the first time in a year the day before this rencontre, such is my luck. Maybe next year? For everyone able to go, have a great time!
I’m sure I could find my abs if I looked hard enough for them…
