I know that a lot of people want to learn how to learn a language fast, but I personally think LingQ’s strength is in helping people learn a language thoroughly. What does it mean to learn a language fast? I personally believe that one should experience a language for at least 1,000 hours to really get a feel for it. Someone people learn languages as if it would take them 1,000 years to get up their their first 1,000 hours, others are able to do it in 3 years or less. Is that fast?

I agree. “Fast” is a bit general  To clarify what I meant… Without LingQ I’d spend A LOT more time looking up Japanese characters as well as shuffling through various YouTube videos. So when I mean faster, I mean by saving bits of time here and there. It all adds up. That’s what these posts should highlight.

Example, if I spend 10 minutes a day having to organize words or look them up, that’s over an hour a week. That’s 56 hours a year gone out the window! Which is nearly 2 months of extra study time!

I would love to write an article about learning French with LingQ! Although, I’m not sure if I have a “conversational ability” in French because I haven’t started speaking yet.
