Library Enhancements and Editor Access

We are pleased to announce a bunch of new enhancements in the Library today including the re-introduction of the Level and Accent filters on the Search page. In addition, you will now find that clicking on a lesson in the search results opens the Lesson popup right away instead of taking you to the Collection page. You can still access the Collection page by clicking on the new Collection link in the search results list. We think this is much more convenient for all while still allowing you to go to the Collection if you need to.

You can also filter your results by level and accent now. We realize not many lessons have accents attached but that should change in the future. To help us categorize the libraries and to maintain our content we have now added editor access. We are looking for volunteers to help us maintain our content libraries, let us know if you would like to help and we can set you up as an editor.

Here is the full list of changes in this update:

* You can now edit your imported lessons easily by clicking on the Edit link on the Lesson page. It is up beside the Download Audio and Print buttons.
* Collection description was added to Lesson popup
* Level and Accent filters added to Search page
* Lesson popup added to search results page
* Lessons at your level show up first on all shelves on Library home page
* Editor access available for member editors

I would like to help with Russian library

I would also with the Spanish

I would like to help with the German library.

Mark,
Thank you for the improvement.
The library is getting better and better. I like it! It’s fun! Thank you.

Mark, it’s fine to have the new filters. Thank you. And to have the description of the collection back.
There is now a new problem. When I go to page 2 in a collection there is a strange site  Take a look, please.

@Cakypa, VeraI, Berta - I have created editor access for you all. Thanks for your help!

@Vera - Everything seems fine to me on page 2 of a collection. There are no strange sights. What is strange for you?

Let me explain, what I did. I choosed the provider “Irene K.” in the German library. Then I clicked on “View collection”. Then on “2” for page 2. Then the page looks strange.

If I click on the title of the collection in a lesson, another site appears which have no problems.

There seems to bee different links.
Wrong version: Alltagsleben - LingQ Language Library
Correct version: Alltagsleben - LingQ Language Library

I don’t understand what is the editor acces.

Hi Cecile, some user should be enabled to correct lessons in their native language. Mark and Steve have not the time to correct all typos and sometimes the member who imported the lesson is not available. See Mark’s first post above.

Cecile you can edit all the content as if it were your own.

Mark I tried to edit this lesson:

Just to change the accent to Argentina, but it gave me the 404 error (I tried twice)

Oops! It looks like all lessons can’t be edited for some reason. We will look into it.

Vera, I see that now. Thanks. We’ll get that fixed.

Vera, that issue with the collection view is now fixed.

Now, all of you who have editor access should be able to edit lessons. The 404 error has been fixed.

Yes it works now!

ty mark.

Thank you Mark. That’s fine.

Another question: Why did you removed the functionality that the level of an imported lesson is automatically calculated? It was a nice feature!

And another idea: It is fine to have the description of the collection when you select a lesson. That’s great. But I miss the description of a lesson when I choose a collection. There is only the title shown.

@Vera - That is a bug. The level should be calculating automatically. You can see the lesson description as a popup if you hover on the lesson title in the Collection view.

Thank you mark. I wasn’t aware of the hover functionality. I think it is not obvious. Maybe other member will have the same problem?
