Issue with Cantonese input for lesson text editing

I am trying to edit the lesson text, through the web browser in safari on a Mac using the cantonese text input.

In the text editing area, I get the usual pop-down menu, but when I press the number, or space, or click the character, it disappears without actually entering the character.

When I do this in the sidebar notes field, no problem.

As a work-around, I typed into the sidebar and copy-pasted into the main text area, but it seems like there’s a bug here and I should be able to input directly.

Anyone else have this issue or a potential explanation?

I am unable to reproduce the issue on my end.
When you are on the Edit Lesson page, and select Lesson Text tab at the top right, you should be able to make changes in the text without issues. Everything seems fine on my end.
Can you please give it another try?

Interestingly, when I tried Pinyin, I was able to enter a character, then tried to do it again to take a picture and it no longer worked.

If I reload the page, the same thing happens: the first entry in pinyin works, then stops working after. The first entry in Jyutping works, then stops working after.

It seems to also not work with macOS audio dictation: the characters appear as you speak, then disappear.

It is only when the text input is inside the blue highlighted region.

macOS 15.1.1, safari

Here’s a link to a screen recording showing the issue:

Thanks, we will investigate this further.
