iPad-App constantly crashes at start when online

I installed the update to version 6.0.25 on my iPad Pro 11" (16GB RAM, 2TB storage, 1TB free) with M1 chip today and since the update the app is completely unusable, on start it instantly crashes. You can see the GUI for at best a second and then it crashes every time.

I noticed that turning off wifi prevents the crash.

Tried rebooting the iPad, no change. iPad is set to German, LingQ app is set to English because the German translation is really bad.

The version before 6.0.25 had no problems.

I’m having a similar issue after the 6.0.25 update. The app crashes almost immediately after opening, but it seems to work with Wi-Fi turned off. Hopefully the team can look into this soon, as the previous version worked fine.

Same for me, before and after the update.

@Kotatsukatze @barryby @PageTurner91 We’re uploading a speculative fix for this. Please update as to whether 6.0.27 fixes the issue for you once it’s out.

In the meantime, please email your crash logs to iosapp@lingq.com:

Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Analytics Data → files named LingQ-2026-….ips → Select + Share

Checked the update, no change unfortunately. Still crashes directly after starting the app, disabling internet connection prevents crash.

I still get this bug, some words in the lesson are being treated as regular text instead of being clickable/LingQable. Could you please fix this?

Could you please send your crash logs? So far we’ve received no logs for this which means we’re flying blind.

Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Analytics Data → files named LingQ-2026-….ips → Select + Share → iosapp@lingq.com.

Please share a link to the lesson (you can get it on web). Or if you use Settings → App → Email Support we can see your logs.

E-mail sent. It happened across different lessons and languages.

Thanks everyone for reporting this and for the additional details. We’re still looking into what might be causing the issue.

@Kotatsukatze @barryby If you haven’t already, please send us your logs through Settings → App → Email Support.
The support email can be prepared while offline, and Mail.app should send it once the device is back online, even if LingQ crashes again when you reconnect.
If possible, a short video recording of the crash would also be very useful for the investigation.

In the meantime, you could also try deleting and reinstalling the app, as this may help resolve the issue.
