In the past, after much suffering and wasted time editing lessons, I put much thought into how to improve things and came up with the following.
Here are some simple changes that can make lesson editing a lot faster, easier, and more efficient:
For adjusting timestamps:
• Pressing “Replace” copies the current paused playback timestamp into either Start Time or End Time.
• The “-” and “+” buttons adjust the timestamp by 0.1s instead of 1s and play back 0.1s of audio so that you can hear if you are at the right spot or not.
• Pressing “-1” and “+1” adjusts the timestamp by 1s.
• Pressing the words “Start Time” or “End Time” plays back 1s of audio at start or end so that you can evaluate if you are at the right spot.
Steps to split a sentence into 2 smaller chunks:
• Press the [Enter] button in the text where you want the split to occur.
• Press the [Enter] button in the translation where you want the split to occur.
• Pause audio playback where you want the split to occur.
• Doing the above 3 will make the “+” and “+ Add paragraph spacing” buttons turn green. Pressing either button will split the sentence exactly as you want.
Additional improvements:
• Clicking anywhere on the playback timeline instantly moves to that position.
• The graphic waveform is just fantasy that I would love to see.
