I have been having trouble importing YouTube videos in Mandarin. The imported text is both in pinyin as well as the simplified Chinese characters. This does not happen all the time, only with certain YouTube channels. I am probably doing something wrong, but I can’t figure out why sometimes I import only the characters (good) and sometimes both characters and pinyin (bad). I am using a MacBook pro, with everything up to date.
@everetttouse This is probably because the YouTube channel itself is including the pinyin inside the subtitles. I checked a video for Xiaogua Chinese and it seems to be the case - This isn’t something we are adding in during the import process, the ‘chinese’ captions just already have both Hanzi and pinyin .
