I always have trouble with where the things I put

I don’t know how to say a correct sentence like this:
I always have trouble with where the things I put …
or … I always forget where the things I put…
or … I can’t find the things that I put…
Do I need any prepositions in those sentences?
Thank you!

Honestly, I’m not sure prepositions would help make these sentences sound better.

Some examples of “good” sounding sentences.

-I always forget where I put things.
-I’m always forgetting where I put things.
-I would forget my head if it weren’t attached.
-I always have trouble remembering where I put things.
-I can’t find the things (that) I put (in the closet, in the box, etc.)

Thank you so much. It really helps. I can use different ways to say the same thing.
